
The Art Gallery and Space Museum in the Interdisciplinary Block was inaugurated on 11th February 2025, by Prof. Dipankar Banerjee (Director,IIST), facilitated by Prof Kuruvilla Joseph (Registrar, IIST), the CMD, and the Humanities and Social Sciences Department . In the Space musuem there are 23 miniature space craft exhibits ranging from Aryabhata to Crew Module.

The annual sports meet for the academic year 2024-25 was conducted on 31 January 2025. The students participated in various sports events under the flags of five houses, namely; Akashganga, Devyani, Kritika, Saptarshi and Sharmista. IIST has been recognized by the All Kerala Blood Donors Society (KEBS) for its dedication to voluntary blood donation during the 2024-25 session. This honor was awarded at KEBS' 22nd Annual Celebration Ceremony on 15th March 2025 in Trivandrum and was received on behalf of IIST by volunteers from Nirmaan Club, the institute’s social outreach club.

Dr. Sarita Vig, Dept. of Earth & Space Sciences, was selected for participation in the Women in Space and Allied Sciences Leadership Programme (WiSLP) – Phase 2, held at Coventry University, United kindgom between 19 - 27 March 2025. The delegation included 13 prolific women scientists selected from across India of various disciplines.
